Hi! or Light!

My son is slowly collecting and practicing his first words.
"Hi! Hi!" he calls out whenever he sees Light! Light!
It surprises me - all the light he finds around us.

stepping out from under the bridge, "Hi! Hi!" to the sun & to the light on the water

You might try it yourself. It's positively infectious.
For one day greet every light you meet with a bold bright "Hi!"

HI!

in loving memory

There are three times of the year when I especially pause to remember my father.

October 31/November 1 for Samhain & All Souls, where we honor our Beloved Dead.
January 13 for the anniversary of his death.
July 28 for his birthday.

Happy Birthday Dad. Your life continues to be celebrated and missed.
And loved.

fuschia & ferocious

thistles are among my favorite flowers. I've been watching these on my walks to work each day, waiting for them to bloom. but on my walk home last night I saw that someone has started to cut them down! probably due to the big pointy thorns... so I climbed over the guard rail and into the thorny brush to catch a few photos of these fierce summer beauties.

potted plant

such a treat to find this little plant-ling making its way up from what I thought was dead dirt.
Do you see the little droplet on the fresh new leaf?
