recognition Sunday

Last Sunday, Pastor J formally recognized, by name & giving them a rose of gratitude, the folks who perform the roles & tasks that keep the church functioning. I loved it. I love that the people who can so commonly be taken for granted in a church were named & thanked & praised.

Pastor J's husband was one of those recognized - for the tasks he does at church & for the support he gives to Pastor J. (I've never seen a pastor's wife receive that recognition.) He was so kind as to pass his rose on to me. It's still blooming in my kitchen window.
